Come to this workshop and find out how austerity can signal opportunity and how to weather the current storms. There will be an opportunity to receive feedback on funding applications and business plans and a chance to network with exhibitors from across the region as well as hear case studies from industry professionals.

Who is the course for?

This workshop is for staff of small to medium sized cinemas, arts centres with a film programme, film festivals and film societies based primarily in the Northern Film & Media Region; though we are also able to offer a number of places to exhibitors from other regions.

What will the course cover?

Developing a fundraising strategy for your organisation
Identifying new sources of funding
Seeking out new opportunities
Getting your business into shape
Practical tips on pitching to corporate sponsors
Understanding the importance of building and maintaining relationships with funders/sponsors
Working with the private sector

Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival

This course is run in partnership with Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival, which takes place over the 15-19 September 2010. The 2010 festival once again brings the best of the latest films on the international festival circuit to the region, as well as cult classics, and the ever popular silent film screening with live accompaniment. Using Berwick as a stunning backdrop, the programme of installations and events, will also give you the chance to engage with innovative film and video works within Berwick's unique historical locations.
