The first event will take place at the Black Swan Bar at Newcastle Arts Ce ntre on Wednesday 29 July.\n\nAt the heart of the event is a fun-fille d but competitive team tournament in which teams of up to five members will compete against each other at selected games from the Wii sports package. There will be places for ten teams, one of which will be a w ild card made up of individual competitors on the evening. The eventua l victors will be crowned ‘Wii Team of the Year’ and rewarded with boundless kudos and also some manner of low-quality trophy.\n\nIf you ’re not the competitive type you’re welcome to come along as a spe ctator and watch the games or just chat with people over a drink. The evening will also be jollied-up with a bar and music.\n\nUniting docky ard practitioners and companies with other local groups, businesses an d organisations, the event is a chance to network and meet people you maybe have only known virtually – to put flesh on the avatar.
