Following the success of February’s Shoot Fashion with Keith Moss & Kate Fearnley workshop, East Cleveland-based photographer Keith is turning his attention to one of the most difficult aspects of commercial photography - photographing products.
In this subsidised highly interactive workshop Keith and his team will look at the dos and don'ts of product photography, give away one or two important industry secrets and provide examples of commercial briefs they have worked on for a variety of clients.
Learn how to photograph products with Keith Moss and his team:
Products can be shot in a number of ways but if you want to produce high quality commercial work there are a number of important rules which must be considered: For example, how do you go about photographing a white shirt on a white background? What are the lighting techniques you need to consider and how do you avoid unnecessary shadows and reflections when photographing products that are shiny? It’s a make or break business and the right photograph can be the difference between a product selling or not selling - so how do you decide what its best features are and how do you go about ‘getting’ them in one shot? All of these questions and more will be answered in this one day workshop which will be made up of informal presentations and practical exercises.
Meet the client and photograph their products:
One of the subject areas covered will be the ‘tricky’ area of jewellery photography which is technically challenging for both industry newcomers and experienced professional photographers. During this session the team will be joined by jewellery designer Natalie Longbottom of Leeds-based Miss Jewel Junkie. Natalie will talk about her work and its target audience and her needs from the perspective of the photography client. Following a short coaching session from Keith, delegates will be allowed to photograph Natalie’s collection, the results of which they will be able to use in their own portfolios.
All in all Shoot Products with Keith Moss offers both new and long established professionals the rare opportunity to learn from a highly regarded professional and his team and to take those skills developed on the day into their own business practices.
Subsidised price for North East based businesses:
While the value of the workshop is £200.00 per person, Teesside University is able to offer it free to a limited number of photography businesses.*
