Looks good and thanks for sharing. I have a lastolite green screen background somewhere so must get it out for a play. Haven't needed to do a lot of chromakey but its always good to know how to do it.

Totally agree and I suspected that sunderland would be way behind the times. That said with the h264 flash players availiable for free http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ we are in a mid way position with all of this much like broadcast is with the…

Green Screen Technique for Interviews (EX1)

Due to getting a lot of requests from clients to do interviews on location, I looked into using green screen technology to eliminate the difficulties of filming in a small office - i.e the dull backgrounds and lack of space. The traditional problem with green screen is the need to light the green screen brightly and evenly to get a good key. Apart from the challenge to light it brightly it also…See More

So does BBC I-player work as it now runs on H264? I work in broadcast and on-line delivery and the H264 codec is the future so it makes sense for people to adopt it sooner rather than later. As for Sunderland Council I don't know their IT stage…

FYI - just sent a H264 version of a film to Sunderland Council for approval. It was a lot easier to convert time-wise BUT It wont play on any of their PC's. I now need to convert film to Flash for them to view.

All the H264 works fine on the PC's we have tested, biggest problem with flash is that it takes hours to encode so by the time you find a fault you have wasted a lot of time. H264 (MP4) is almost real time and it is what the broadcasters are…

Interesting but I have found flash to be dreadful for quality and upload times, I did loads of tests with on2flix pro and found it virtually un-ueseable, it takes forever to encode and will not handle HDV very well. Mp4 or H264 is far better and…

Do keep in touch and appreciate your comments re flash but the H264 codec is being adopted more and more so that is what I am specialising in.
Best regards. Gary

I think the days of £100k edit and dub suites are numbered and as camera technology is already sub £10k for full HD to broadcast standards these are interesting times.
