Encoding video with captions/subtitles

Hi all.An idle query: I'm working on low-cost software-based methods to hard-encode or "burn in" subtitles or captions into a video clip. I'd love some suggestions for applications that will do it.When we create subtitles they're exported as a subtitle file (.srt, .sub, .xml, .stl and many other formats). We usually use these files to create closed captions, but I'm trying to compile and evaluate a list of applications which can take a subtitle file like this, and the video file it "belongs…See More
